MEET THE AUTHORS
ROOSEVELT EDWARDS first realized he wanted to be a writer after taking a creative writing class in college. His inspiration for his stories come from history, personal life experiences, and his own active imagination. Born in Korea and raised in Tennessee, a sense of global culture was instilled in him at an early age.
The Ced in the City series introduces Roosevelt’s debut children’s stories. The books are a loving tribute to his late nephew, Cedric Hutchison II, also known as CedintheCity, whose travels around the world and thrill-seeking and generous spirit inspired the writings of these books. When he isn’t busy writing about the amazing world adventures of Cedric, Roosevelt enjoys spending time with his wife and two children where he lives in Atlanta, Georgia.
PATTY HUTCHISON’S happy place is the beach or sitting on the patio in her backyard, planting flowers and watching birds. She also enjoys spending time with her three adorable grandchildren, ages five, seven, and eleven, who are characters in this book series.
Patty developed her passion for travel and writing stories in her adult life after the death of her son, Cedric. She has found it to be a source of healing as she navigates through the journey of grief. Patty hopes young readers will allow their imaginations to explore the countries highlighted in the CedintheCity book series and inspire them to see the beauty in diversity and cultures all over the world.
